Advantages and disadvantages of electric plates
The electric plates are the simplest cooking system, without programming, without ignition. They are also economical, with prices varying between 150 and 300 €. Easy to install, they are robust, but also have some drawbacks: the fairly long heating and cooling time, the risk of burns because there is no security system ... They are also quite difficult to clean, particularly when there was an overflow.
Choose an electric hob: the number of homes
From two to four homes, the choice of the electric hob is done first, as for any hob, depending on the size of the family. Several models are thus available: the "domino", 30 cm wide, with one or two fireplaces; the standard 60 cm model, with three or four cooking zones; the "large width" of 90 cm, which can accommodate up to six homes. These homes, precisely, can be of several types. In addition to standard fireplaces, the red dot fireplace is the most powerful and the one that heats the fastest. Conversely, the hearth equipped with a metallic central part allows a modulated cooking thanks to its thermostat and to a precise regulation of the temperature.
Choose an electric hob: what type of heating?
Choosing an electric hob also means deciding which type of heater you want to use. This is indicated on a label affixed to the device. It can be cast iron for the most classic tables, but also radiant (homogeneous heat and stable temperature), hi-light radiant (faster temperature rise), halogen or induction. This last system is the most energy efficient, and has the advantage of safety because there is no risk of getting burned.
